Meet the Candidate

Andrea Chamblee

Andrea’s family came to Howard County in 1964 where her mom was a teacher in Howard County Schools. Andrea attended Howard County Public Schools, graduating from Glenelg High school in 1979. She’s a proud Terrapin and a graduate of the University of Maryland Carey Law School. She enjoyed a meaningful career at the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and with local FDA-regulated industry. Andrea has become an expert on gun safety and the impact school violence has on children and educators. Andrea’s tireless activism has increased consequences for gun owners who leave loaded firearms unsecured around children. After years of making Maryland public schools safer, Andrea enters the Howard County Board of Education election with the same fierce determination.
